Meet the Yogi
ARMEN MARDIROUSI
My Story
Immigrant. Born in Tehran. Spent my first birthday in London while on a 3-month family trip. My early childhood was spent in Iran, then Greece – where I remember watched the Challenger Shuttle disaster on television and Argentina’s national football team win the FIFA World Cup Final – before finding my 8-year-old self in Glendale, California on a Tuesday in April. I had an active childhood and can fill pages recalling… perhaps something I will do one day. For now, let’s just say that traditional school was not my thing.
At the age of 19, I enrolled as a student of Glendale Community College. While there, I took all types of classes to try and satisfy my newfound thirst for knowledge. Astronomy. Mathematics. Electronics and circuit design. English. Philosophy. Photography. This was amazing for a kid who had never before even shown the slightest interest in school. While attending classes at Glendale College, I was also running my own business, a web design company I had started. I was fortunate to grow up with my best friend, wife and mother to our children. It took me 12 years to get a 2-yeaer degree from Glendale College. While a student, I was also a father, husband, business owner, Scout leader for my son’s Den/Troop, and wore about a dozen other hats as well. I went on to create several businesses – some very successful and others not. I also continued my formal education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an option in marketing from the California State University in Los Angeles and a master’s in business administration (MBA) from Woodbury University.
In 2008, I received my real estate salesperson license. I started Raven’s Rock Real Estate Services, Inc. in June of 2017 and I currently serve as broker in charge. I am a licensed real estate broker in the State of California.
I am a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. I teach yoga and meditation classes. I enjoy spending time with my wife and our children, especially outside. I am a seeker. A traveler. A teacher. A student.
What about you? What’s your story? I’d like to know… Tell me.
