The path led to real estate…
I first became interested in real estate in the mid-2000’s. However, only recently decided to make a full-time business of it. A lot has happened leading up to this point…
In the summer of 1996, at the age of seventeen, I became interested in computers and stated a computer repair business – which I ran out of my bedroom. Without any training on the use of computers (apart from a general overview of computing on an Apple II computer in high school). I decided to take an in-home course which included computer programing lessons. The training consisted of workbooks that were mailed to me. I read the lessons, answered test questions, and mailed off the physical answer sheet along with my programming projects on 3.5-inch floppy disk for grading. This self-paced course provided me with a computer and the basics I’d need to put it to use. It was about this time that I discovered the Web and focus of my business turned from computer repair to website design. In 1999, I moved the business out of my bedroom and into a small office in Glendale (across the street from Glendale Community College, where I was a student at the time).
So why am I telling you all this? What does it have to do with real estate? Read on…
Over the years, my company became successful, and I enjoyed my work. It was exciting to grow the company that I started in a bedroom with $50 into a business that supported a family. In fact, that company is still around and I still enjoy being a part of it. While building my business, I also finished school. I transferred from Glendale College with an Associates Degree and continued my education at the California State University at Los Angeles, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration on Marketing. I later attended graduate school at Woodbury University, where I received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
Although I was still involved with real estate, in one form or another, from when I first started in about 2004, It wasn’t until a decade later that I would come full-circle and put real estate front and center in my business life. In 2014, my company got involved with a project geared towards the real estate industry. As part of the work on that project, I had to dissect the real estate sales process and learn ways of making it easier on all parties involved. this continued for a few years and I found myself enjoying the real estate industry and sale process. In 2017, I started a real estate brokerage and named it Raven’s Rock Real Estate Services, Inc.
